We will definitely have to talk at HS group so I can glean some of your ideas and talents! LOL! I know what you mean about the coupons, been there and done that. Our pantry is quite full with what I consider "real foods," though we still use or have on hand canned food. I have yet to grow and preserve enough tomato products that our family uses. Canned beans are also a lifesaver when throwing together a last minute meal. You'll have to share with me where you get your meat from. For sourdough, this cookbook is great: http://www.amazon.com/Alaska-Sourdough-Ruth-Allman/dp/0882400851/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326307419&sr=8-1 . Also, are you familiar with the Kitchen Stewardship blog? http://www.kitchenstewardship.com/ This is a great blog to follow. She blogs about her "baby steps" approach to the change she has/ is making in her family. She has many posts on sourdough, including recipes here: http://www.kitchenstewardship.com/recipes/#breads . Cheers for no more microwave!! We have not used one for years and honestly, have not missed it, except for the fact that it was awesome in heating up our rice packs in the winter that we used to use to warm up our beds. Anyway, this sounds like a great idea for blogging (following your journey) and I can't wait to hear about what you are doing next!Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16415163531945638963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5654170444886090178.post-53704151435704738602012-01-09T15:42:07.455-05:002012-01-09T15:42:07.455-05:00Wow! We've haven't gotten very far yet, since it is so hard to do alot at once (we are starting with eliminating processed foods and wheat, and trying to buy only organic produce and meats. I'll be looking forward to reading more about how and what you do. It can get pretty overwhelming on how to realistically do all this!!Lesliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17665484566869140071noreply@blogger.com
