Deer roast in a crockpot. Who did the hunting for the deer meat? Is it better slow-cooked. I've never tasted venison that I can recall. I'm curious as to what are the seasonings to prepare it.

Hi Gracieanne! Actually, nobody hunted this deer. She was hit on the road just ahead of me and was suffering badly, so I called my dad and brother and they put her down. As far as seasonings, I just treat a deer roast as I would beef - Salt, pepper, a little garlic and onion. It's quite tasty! I've been brought up on it as most of my family are hunters. I'm too big of a softie to actually hunt myself. I've never slow cooked a deer roast before, so this will be new for me but my mom just did one a few weeks ago and said it turned out wonderfully!
